The soft drink company Britvic is aiming for its own zero waste goal by 2020. To do this they’ve taken several steps. While one part of the company focuses on improving the nutritional content the other side is more concerned with recycling. First they’ve diverted nearly all their trash from landfills which they hope to completely stop using by 2020. The next step was to make sure that all of their bottles are recyclable as well as utilizing recycled PET plastics in their products which they hope to maintain at 15%. The last step was to cut emissions at their factory. The goal is to cut it down 15% by 2020 compared to their emissions from 2016. Another goal of theirs was reducing the packaging they use so that it is not wastefully used. Due to the sheer amount of bottles we throw away every year it’s imperative we find useful ideas to stop wasting so much material.
