West Germany was the side of Germany after WWII associated with the western nations like the U.K., France and the U.S. This coin is a 10 pfennig (so 10 cents) from 1981, still awhile before reunification. It bears some resemblance to the 1953 coin with the back adorned by oak sprigs. The front has a rye stalk and has the phrase Bundesrepublik Deutschland meaning the Federal Republic of Germany.
